|   | We traveled to Summit County, Colorado this February for a little winter fun: something we sure miss here in Houston. We stayed at a great condo in Silverthorne courtesy of the Krafts, who were gracious enough to lend us the place - hot tub included! Our friend Kelda (from Houston) joined us for most of the week and Lisa Kraft (Angela's roomie at MTU) drove up from Denver for the weekend. We skied A-Basin on Sunday, and a couple of days at Breckendridge. Angela skied the Basin as well and enjoyed some nordic skiing the rest of the time while Kelda and I were on the slopes. Unfortunately my back pain returned so I was limited in how much skiing I could handle. The snowshoeing also turned out to be quite painful. Oh well, I had fun nonetheless. The Frisco Nordic Center was a fantastic cross country and mixed use area - far better than the ski resorts' nordic areas. They have a great log cabin lodge there with a nice sun deck for soaking up some high-altitude rays on the off time. If we have an opportunity to go back, I think we have to ski the Loveland Pass. |
